Kent Marine Biosediment
A substrate composed of minerals typically found in and around
tropical reefs. It is a blend of completely suitable materials,
and contains no silicates, organics, phosphate, or nitrogen! Marine
Biosediment may be used as a primary substrate in reef and fish-only
marine aquariums. The benefits of using Marine Biosediment are
numerous: macroalgae, mangrove seedlings, and turtle grass have
the proper substrate composition in which to gain purchase, the
collective density of the substrate is conducive to rapid denitrification
(with time, bacteria naturally remove nitrate), and the metabolic
products of bacteria facilitate a slow rate of mineral dissolution,
releasing calcium, magnesium, strontium, potassium, carbonate,
sulfate, and trace elements to the systems inhabitants.

Nitrate Sponge
This granular zeolitic medium works by two methods. 1) It slowly
directly absorbs small amounts of ammonia that are released by fish
and natural processes, and 2) it fosters anaerobic bacterial denitrification
due to its physical porous structure. This denitrification slowly
reduces nitrate levels in the aquarium. It works well in freshwater
tanks as well, or on tap water to remove toxic ammonia directly!
Nitrate Sponge prolongs the time allowed between water changes by
keeping nitrates low. |

Reef Carbon
Removes organic pollutants, stains, and entrained toxic gases in
marine and freshwater aquariums or ponds. Contains the finest pellitized
activation bituminous coal based carbon. Pore size is in the 20
to 2,000 Angstrom range, ideally suited for removal of large organic
molecules. Super activated with very high iodine and molasses numbers.
Less than .2% ash, making it suitable for sensitive species such
as discus. Will not leach phosphates or promote undesirable algae
growth, suited to sensitive reef systems. |

Phosphate Sponge
This ceramic medium will absorb phosphates quickly (within hours)
when placed directly in the water flow. Works in saltwater and freshwater
aquariums or ponds to bring about 1.0 ppm of phosphate or silicates
down to less than .05 ppm in a 120-gallon tank for every dry quart
of medium. This product will not release soluble aluminum compounds
in to your aquarium, as some competing products may. Will absorb
moisture for use as an air dryer for ozone, and can be renewed over
and over in moisture removal service. |

Organic Adsorption Resin
Removes organic pollutants, stains, and entrained toxic gases to
provide a pure environment in marine and freshwater aquariums. Contains
special form macroporous organics adsorption resins, and reduces
or eliminates carbon usage. May be regenerated. White beads will
turn yellow or brown indicating exhaustion and need for regeneration.
Resin life is about 2 years. |

Toxic Metal Sponge
Safely removes heavy metals. Is safe for use in all aquatic systems.
Removes copper, lead, mercury, and other heavy metals from marine
and freshwater aquariums, and tap water. Toxic Metal Sponge contains
special form macroporous cation exchange resins. May be regenerated.
Light beads turn a slight blue or gray, indicating exhaustion and
need for regeneration. Resin life is about 2 years. |

Mixed Bed Resin
High tech resin removes organic pollutants, stain, and entrained
toxic gases to provide a pure environment in marine and freshwater
aquariums. Contains special form macroporous organic adsorption
resins. Reduces carbon usage. May be regenerated. Darkens, indicating
exhaustion and need for regeneration. Resin life is about
2 years. |
