What UV Sterilizers do:
Short-wave ultraviolet light kills waterborne microorganisms with ease, provided they are exposed to the radiation for a sufficient length of time. The UV light breaks the "DNA chain," thus preventing the microorganism from reproducing. Fluid enters the chamber at the sterilizer inlets, circulates within it for the proper length of time to ensure a high kill rate and returns to the tank via the sterilizer outlet. UV Sterilizers should run on a continuous 24-hour per day basis for maximum benefit. |
