Q: What do you mean by prints "matted for framing?" What do I actually get?
A:
Each print is matted with a single mat and is backed with foamcore and wrapped in plastic. Of course you can change the mat once you have the piece and/or add one for double matting.

Q: Can I buy a print without the mat?
A:
No, not the numbered prints. I feel better shipping them nicely matted and backed. If I shipped in a tube and you had a framer mat it, you would spend the same total amount at best and probably more. "Flat" shipping would cost as much in materials as matting does, so I feel I am giving you the best option for your money. The "Through Her Hands" show poster DOES have a mailing tube option.

Q: How are your prints produced? Are they limited editions, original prints, or posters?
A:
The poster "Through Her Hands" and the limited edition prints of pen & inks and paintings are commercially offset printed. The limited edition prints of the linoleum cuts are archival digital prints produced on a high resolution Epson printer. All but "Through Her Hands" are signed and numbered. These are not original prints. Although they are mass produced, the signature and number is my pledge that no more like them will be made. That is what sets them apart from a poster. Limiting an edition can help a print increase in value, but it is still not comparable to the value of an original or an original print (such as one hand-pulled from a linoleum block). Q: You offer originals and original prints too, right?
A:
Some originals are still available. In the case of the linoleum cuts, it can be confusing: They are "original prints" because I printed them from a linoleum block which I carved. Any of those available are mentioned under the "Original" category next to the image. The reproductions of the linoleum cuts, while signed and numbered, are not original prints. They are equivalent to the prints of the paintings and drawings. For the most part, you will be buying reproductions from me. Any original or original print requires an e-mail for more information. The Free Art Buying Tips explains this more. I'll also gladly answer any other questions you have if you contact me.

Q: Is my print going to be an expensive nightmare to have framed?
A:
No. All but the square ones fit "off the rack" frames. And even those are fairly simple and economical to frame: Many very nice metal frames can be purchased at a craft or frame store as pairs of sides. In other words, buy two pairs of 9 inch sides for a "Mandala" or two pairs of 20 inch sides for "Hotel California." The 9 inch sides may be a special order, but they still will be relatively inexpensive. Ask for glass cut to fit (also inexpensive), follow the directions in the frame package, and voila! - you can do it yourself. Even if the framer helps you, it will cost less than custom framing. Of course custom framing does offer more choices and can vary from quite reasonable to expensive depending on what you choose, so don't rule it out.

Q: What am I getting if I order a T-shirt? How are they sized?
A:
The T-shirt art is a heat transfer applied professionally with a press. With proper care, it should last a long time. (Care instructions included with each order.) The shirts wear well with normal use and are comfort-cut for lots of room. Order sizes based on what you would buy in any unisex name-brand US T-shirt. The following chest measurements are a good guide: 34-36 Small, 38-40 Medium, 42-44 Large, 46-48 XL, 50-52 XXL.

Q: Are your postcards within the size for US postcard rates?
A:
Yes. However, you may wish to get them there in good enough shape for the recipients to frame. May I suggest an envelope and first class postage? Your local stationer or print shop may stock the perfect envelope for 10 to 20 cents. It measures 4 3/4 x 6 1/2, and is referred to as an A-6 envelope.

Q: Is the image on my monitor exactly what I will get on a print or T-shirt?
A:
Probably not quite... The colors you see have been translated, first by a scanner, then by your monitor. Your screen resolution may also effect the quality of the image. Also, the prints and T-shirts have each been created by different processes. Ink used by a printer is not the same as pigments used to create a photo transfer. The image you see on your screen will be as close to true as possible, as is the case with any image you view on-line. Buy the art for your overall love of the piece, not because of the exact shade of a bit of color. In the unlikely event you are truly horrified by any discrepancies, you may, of course, return the item.

Q: Can I return something?
A:
Yes. Even if something is perfectly represented on your screen, you may realize it is not what you want once you see it full size, in person. Simply return it in its original condition within 10 days of when you receive it, for a refund or an exchange. Instructions are included with each order.

Q: Do you accept credit cards?
A:
Yes, I accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express

Q: Can I send a check instead?
A:
Yes. Simply print out the order form when you are done shopping. Then go to the contact page. Send me an e-mail that you wish to order via mail, along with any questions. I'll respond with an address to mail your check and order form to and answer any questions.

Q: What about sales tax?
A:
You need only pay sales tax if you live in Pennsylvania. Add 6% tax on art and cards. There is no tax on T-shirts.

A:
