Baby Boom Memories
By James Murphy

Baby Boom Memories recalls the joys and
sadness, thrills and fears of growing up in the
60s.  Jim Murphy's remarkable memory for detail
brings to your mind little things long forgotten:  TV
shows  enjoyed as a  family, the music on the radio,
and more.  Baby boomers  will  recall and relive many
of the same events from  their own past.  Jim says he
"wanted to give a gift to my parents with a book about
me growing up. To thank them for a wonderful childhood."

"This book is for  baby boomers and  will  undoubtedly  remind them
of  similar  experiences  in their own lives.  For those  readers  from
Generation X, it's an interesting look at history from the perspective
of a young boy who lived it."  Rebecca Denton, Eagle Times

"I  really  enjoyed  reading what  James Murphy,  local  Beatles
authority, wrote about inBaby Boom Memories. He lived through
the era from a parochial school in  New England. His  memories
are most everyone's, as captured under chapters titled Atomic
Bombs and Jackie Gleason, Creature Features, Paul is Dead,
Growing Up With the Boston Strangler. His memories are
humorous,  touching,  and sometimes sad.  I can't
wait for  my  sister to  read  it."   Darragh Doiron,Port

Jim Murphy  was  born in  New Haven,
Connecticut  in 1952. ( OK, for  you math
whizzes,  the  picture above does reflect
his feeling when he finished his book, if
not the exact color of his hair.)  That said,
Jim  attended  parochial school  until  his
graduation  in 1970.  He  continued school
and worked at a variety of professions over
the  next  10  years;  broadcasting,  printing,
banking,  and eventually insurance.  He was
promoted to Underwriting Manager for Kemper
Insurance in 1980, and relocated to his present
home in Charlotte NC  in 1987.  Jim is married to
Kathryn Murphy, his wife of 25 years, and has two
children,  Robert , 20, and  Karen, 18. Jim's passion,
after his family, is golf.  After playing for over 21 years,
he still awakens in the early morning hours on Saturdays,
filled with excitement to get out on the course. After
reading Baby  Boom  Memories,  you  will  find he's  just  the kind of person you would like to have a cup of coffee with and talk about old times.
