-It's such a wonderful book. It is so inspiring to read about these people and really get to know them through the pages of this book.

-This book will strengthen the faith of anyone who reads it.

What Reviewers Say:
-Rarely have novelized versions of history-especially church history-remained so true to actual fact. Although the author has created some dialogue to make her characters more human, the dialogue is believable...Elaine Stienon is to be commended for keeping her dialogue simple, yet human.
    -The Restoration Trail Forum
-...novelist Elaine Stienon has done a masterful job of retelling the story of the early days of the Latter-day Saint movement...She has attempted to make the personalities of Latter-day Saint history a bit more human while telling a readable and enjoyable story. She has achieved this goal nicely.
Presented from a mostly first-person perspective, the novel treats readers to views of the beginnings of the LDS church through the 'words' of some of its most important players, as well as some not so well-known. Readers will be delighted as they imagine hearing the stories in the first person, as if it were from the perspective of the speaker. The story of David Whitmer is quite nicely done and especially poignant.
