the Author
Genie Saint Louis is the pseudonym for a St. Louis, Missouri-born
writer who has lived in Washington, D.C. for the past 25 years.
She earned her BA at Harris Teachers College, where she minored
in English. She has 9 years of teaching experience and has held
professional positions at McDonnell Douglas Aircraft (now Boeing),
at Howard University, and with the U.S. Department of Education.
Thirteen years ago she discovered she had a penchant for grantsmanship,
fundraising, media relations and special events planning. She uses
this talent to help individual artists and arts organizations that
serve youth. She is donating part of the profits earned from the
short novel, Mr. Jordan Goes To Washington, and the screenplay
on which it is based (Mr. Jordan Returns To The NBA Again)
to underwrite the cost of producing a youth musical with a cast
of thirty.
Genie Saint Louis is
also the author of several children's books which she penned while
teaching-Afrorella, an African-American re-telling of the
Cinderella tale, and The Little Town of ShareA-Lot, from
a Mustafa Madyun play, which teaches children the value of sharing.
