About the Author

Genie Saint Louis is the pseudonym for a St. Louis, Missouri-born writer who has lived in Washington, D.C. for the past 25 years. She earned her BA at Harris Teachers College, where she minored in English. She has 9 years of teaching experience and has held professional positions at McDonnell Douglas Aircraft (now Boeing), at Howard University, and with the U.S. Department of Education. Thirteen years ago she discovered she had a penchant for grantsmanship, fundraising, media relations and special events planning. She uses this talent to help individual artists and arts organizations that serve youth. She is donating part of the profits earned from the short novel, Mr. Jordan Goes To Washington, and the screenplay on which it is based (Mr. Jordan Returns To The NBA Again) to underwrite the cost of producing a youth musical with a cast of thirty.

Genie Saint Louis is also the author of several children's books which she penned while teaching-Afrorella, an African-American re-telling of the Cinderella tale, and The Little Town of ShareA-Lot, from a Mustafa Madyun play, which teaches children the value of sharing.
