Absolute Diamond Exchange Automated Search Process |
| The following steps will help you search our database containing current inventories of hundreds of diamond cutters worldwide. |
| |
Step 1: Cut Quality Options |
| We consider quality of cut to be the most important factor in choosing a diamond,
primarily because quality of cut determines the fire and brilliance a diamond will generate.
Unfortunately, quality of cut is also the least understood of the 4 C's. To assist our clients,
we have pre-selected three quality ranges you can choose from. Or, you can enter your own
depth and table ranges in the search form if you feel confident doing so. |
| |
| CHOOSE ONE OF THE FOLLOWING CUT QUALITY OPTIONS: |
| |
CUT QUALITY 1: IDEAL CUT Only Round Brilliant diamonds have industry recognized
parameters for Ideal Cut, so this option is only available if you are
searching for Round Brilliant diamonds. Choosing this quality option will return only
the top 1% or 2% of all Round Brilliant diamonds, as graded by the GIA and AGS
labs only. Watch especially for the AGS Triple Ideal 000 Hearts and Arrows graded
diamonds. They are very rare and very exceptional.
|
| |
CUT QUALITY 2: FINE MAKE Choosing this quality option will return about the
top 10% of all the diamonds cut in the shape you select. They will be graded by the
labs we trust the most: GIA, AGS, AGA, HRD or EGLLA. Please note: The Absolute
Diamond Exchange DOES NOT quote diamonds graded by EGL or IGI as we have found too
high an incidence of discrepancy in their reports from the internationally
recognized GIA grading standards. Beware of good deals on EGL or IGI graded diamonds!
|
| |
CUT QUALITY 3: WELL CUT Choosing this quality option will return about the top
20% of all the diamonds cut in the shape you select. The better bargains in well
cut diamonds will be found here. This is still a high quality cut as these
parameters will eliminate 75% to 80% of all diamonds listed on the market. They will
be graded by the labs we trust most: GIA, AGS, AGA, HRD or EGLLA. Again, we DO NOT
quote diamonds graded by EGL or IGI due to their inconsistencies.

Choose your own:
Set your own depth and table parameters from scratch, or
choose one of our suggested ranges and modify any or all of the parameters as you
choose. If you have any questions about depth and table parameters, visit our
Absolute Education section, or e-mail us.

Step 3: Depth and Table Ranges |
| The Depth and Table values below will be filled in depending on your cut quality and shape choices. The entries are guidelines that have been established by the Absolute Diamond Exchange to reflect the range of quality for your chosen shape. Please feel free to adjust these values as you see fit. |
