We were pleased that our son
enjoyed playing with his wooden train set. However, leaving the trains
set up on the floor made it difficult to clean and keep the pieces contained
in one area. We needed to get the train set up off the floor. Unfortunately
none of the play tables available were large enough to set up all the
accessories we had for the train set. I asked my husband if he could
build a larger table. He was concerned that a bigger table would be
difficult to move or store away when we needed the space in our living
room for entertaining. Therefore he made a larger table that could fold
up such that I could easily fold it up and slide it under the bed when
we needed the space. We were also able to easily take the table with
us when we visited grandma's house.
Friends and relatives quickly
became intrigued with the table once they saw how easily it folded up.
They were soon asking Steve if he could make tables for them, and Folding
Play was born. We then started advertising in local children's magazines
and received a great response. This past February Folding Play
was invited to showcase the playtables at the 2001 International Toy
Fair in New York City.
