The CREIGHTON MODEL FertilityCare™ System is a new unique model of advanced procreative education. It is the advanced educational technology people have been waiting for! On a day by day basis, a woman becomes very knowledgeable about the fertility events of each and every menstrual cycle.

The
FertilityCare™ System has been extensively evaluated over the past 20 years through research, first at St. Louis University and Creighton University Schools of Medicine and most recently at the Pope Paul VI Institute for the Study of Human Reproduction (Omaha, Nebraska). Educational tools have been developed which coordinate and integrate the delivery of service into a completely standardized teaching system. This teaching system is unique, accurate, designed to problem solve and manage cases and is very consumer friendly! It is individualized and confidential! Because of its standardized and objective format, it has been instrumental in the development of a new reproductive and gynecologic science called NaProTECHNOLOGY®.
NaProTECHNOLOGY®
The CREIGHTON MODEL FertilityCare™ System relies upon the observation of biological markers that are essential to human fertility and a woman's health. These biological markers tell the couple when they are naturally fertile and not fertile. At the same time, these same markers telegraph abnormalities in a woman's health. They are the hub of the new reproductive science of NaProTECHNOLOGY® and they allow a woman to monitor and maintain her procreative and gynecologic health.
This new science is defined as a science which devotes its medical, surgical and allied health energies and attention to cooperating with the natural procreative systems as opposed to artificial reproductive approaches. When these systems are working properly, NaProTECHNOLOGY® works cooperatively with them. When these mechanisms are functioning abnormally, NaProTECHNOLOGY® cooperates with the procreative mechanisms in producing a form of treatment which corrects the condition, maintains the human ecology and sustains the procreative potential.

As a system of family planning the method and use effectiveness of the System to avoid pregnancy is equal to or better than any drug or device on the market (see Table 1). It is also highly effective when used to achieve pregnancy. Because it is also a system that accurately monitors reproductive and gynecologic health, it can be used to assess chronic discharges, perform targeted hormone evaluation and treatment, identify ovarian cysts (and treat non-surgically), evaluate the effects of stress and treat premenstrual syndrome and evaluate and treat reproductive abnormalities such as infertility, miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, stillbirth, prematurity, etc.

It can also be used to evaluate and treat unusual bleeding (decreasing the need for hysterectomy). It is the best system available for dating the beginning of pregnancy, encouraging the development of a multidimensional view of human sexuality (SPICE) in marriage and helping to establish marital bonding. YOUR CREIGHTON MODEL SPECIALIST IN FERTILITY EDUCATION

CREIGHTON MODEL services are delivered by educating the couple about their fertility. This is accomplished through a network of FertilityCare™ Centers developed and operated by specialists in fertility education. These specialists have received their education through a program whose professional curriculum was developed at the Creighton University School of Medicine and the Pope Paul VI Institute for the Study of Human Reproduction, Omaha, Nebraska. THE LEARNING SCHEDULE

The learning schedule is designed to meet the individual needs of each new client couple who enters the program. Adequate instruction is essential for gaining confidence in the system and obtaining the maximum effectiveness possible. The couple enters the program with an introductory session and continues in the program with a series of individualized follow-up teaching appointments.

The Introductory Session: The introductory session is a slide presentation which introduces interested couples to the use of the CREIGHTON MODEL System. It is a general presentation usually given to a small group of couples. An individual introductory session can be scheduled as the need arises. One can register for the introductory session by contacting the FertilityCare™ Center listed in the directory for the location nearest you.

Individualized and Personalized Follow-up Sessions: Follow-up sessions are designed to teach couples to be actual users of the CrMS. Personal instruction on the use of the system and complete chart review are services provided at the individual follow-up sessions. Scheduled at regular intervals, attendance at these sessions is essential so the couple may quickly develop confidence in the use of the system. You will find these sessions to be personalized to meet your needs. After the introductory session, the follow-up sessions occur on the following basic schedule:

FOURTH FOLLOW-UP: EIGHT WEEKS

EIGHTH FOLLOW-UP: TWELVE MONTHS


Subsequent follow-ups are recommended every six to twelve months as needed.
