The three items never lose their importance or place in her life, though they never fully participate in her life, as the events in her life change with the passing of the years.
The bear, the book, and the blanket see her through her childhood as her special and only confidants. She spends every night with them before falling asleep. They each have their own special place in her bedroom.
All of her children, grand children, and great grandchildren received a bear, a book, and a blanket on their fifth birthday. They all had their own special friends to cherish and confide in throughout their lives.
