THE BOOK

Roger Craig's second novel brings together a quartet of entertainers and pits them against an organization intent on the perfection of the human species-regardless of the cost in human lives.

Eric Hightower is a magician and a lawyer who at one time or another drowns both careers in alcohol.

Ellen, his wife, is the "Beautiful Magda" on stage with him. Off stage she is the business manager for the act and Eric's personal Carrie Nation. Insuring Eric's sobriety is her mission statement.

Jack Bellow, professional wrestler and sometimes actor, turns the domestic duet into a trio when he helps Eric and Ellen fend off rowdies who invade the stage at a State Fair.

The three become four when Jack discovers Deanna, a trapeze artist, at Circus-Circus.

When Jack is charged with murdering the man who assaulted Deanna, Eric brings his magic to the courtroom.

Then the four, at the top of their game, are living the good life when Eric accidentally learns that a secret society of the world's movers and shakers was responsible for the Lockerbie crash.

The four cannot be left alive. Foxes hunted by hounds, they run and hide. Then they fight back, by using their unique skills.

There are a series of battles. Then Armageddon.
