Denlinger's, a company established in 1926, publishes hardcover and paperback books and is currently looking for new titles.
While we feel that the best of the past should be preserved, we are standing on the threshold of the 21st Century looking with excitement and anticipation at the challenge before us when we move into the light of a new millennium. Electronic, digital, or on-line publishing is on that threshold.
It is estimated that the Internet is growing at the rate of 200% every year. With the potential of more than 80 million customers currently on-line, electronic publishing could be a "foot-in-the-door" to having your writings published and you becoming a successful author. Your manuscript could eventually be published in soft or hardcover format.
Electronic publishing begins with a review of the completed manuscript. If accepted, the MS is then configured into a format that can be viewed on the computer monitor directly from the Internet. Typically, after choosing a category in the bookstore, the viewer will select a title based on a short description. When a title and short description piques the reader's interest, they "click" on it and immediately are linked to a more detailed description, usually a synopsis, prologue, and/or a portion of the book, complete with color photographs or illustrations if applicable. Also, a biography and photo of the author can be posted in this area.
At the end of this electronic page, readers link to an order form where they can make their purchase. Payments for orders are accepted securely on-line using credit cards as well as by mail and toll-free fax.
Customers will also have a choice of reading formats. They may electronically download the complete manuscript via E-mail or order a 3.5 inch floppy disk or a compact disc (CD), if applicable.
The purchase price of electronically downloaded books could be as much 80% less than a comparable book purchased through traditional bookstores. Not only will you receive royalties from these sales, but any rights that we will be aggressively marketing and selling will provide you additional royalties.
Denlinger's creates and designs unique promotions to get you and your work the attention necessary for successfully marketing your book through reader surveys, print advertising, and presence on the Internet. All promotions are designed to stimulate and interest people in your book. Promotional campaigns become a bold gesture to capture the public's imagination and clearly, showmanship contributes to a majority of sales. We hasten to add that promotion is supposed to be fun and it is never more fun than when you begin to amass free exposure, courtesy of the news media, through press releases.
Internet promotions begin with the submission of your book and it's numerous "key words" to more than 400 search engines, directories and news groups. The Internet "surfer" places a string of descriptive words into these engines and instructs it to "find" all subjects containing those words. Submissions to "search engines" is one of the continuing tasks required to keep your book and Denlinger's Publishers and Bookstore in the forefront of the Internet.
