THE BOOK

Vincent is a turkey who knows he is beautiful. He brags about his beauty and the awards that he will win because of it.  Inevitably, Vincent’s hubris is his downfall. His contest award is a trip to the Thanksgiving table of the President of the United States.

Fortunately, Vincent learns humility before his fateful day and is spared the knife through presidential intervention. Vincent then returns to the farm a changed bird, learning to appreciate his fortunes and the love of those around him.

This story mixes American History and Tradition with a strong moral. Vincent is a turkey who must learn what happens to one who is too proud and boastful. The question remains as Thanksgiving rapidly approaches, will he learn his lesson before it is too late?

EXCERPTS

… Everyday, Vincent would say to the other turkeys in the barnyard: “Listen up, listen here! Guess who will be the Turkey of the Year?!!” This made some of the turkeys sad because they knew that Vincent was the most handsomest, most well-rounded turkey on the entire farm. Some of the birds got mad because of Vincent’s boastful and proud manner. But no matter what anyone said to him, Vincent would wake up every morning gobbling: “Listen up, listen here! Guess who will be turkey of the year?” “
