THE BOOK

Passing Dreams is a short fiction novel that links fact with fantasy, and image with illusion. Cynthia, a wealthy socialite and recent "empty-nester," lives in the dream world most people would call "the happily-ever-after." But Cynthia is not happy. Her false notion of reality quickly crumbles when she catches her husband, Matt, with another woman. Flustered and behind the wheel of her Mercedes, Cynthia spins off the road. Her car lands on the riverbank, tires sunk deep in mud. Coming to her rescue, an oddly familiar stranger miraculously drives the Mercedes back up to the highway. After he is gone, Cynthia finds that he has forgotten his hat on the passenger’s seat of her car. Enchanted by the stranger's hat, she is compelled to return it to its rightful owner. Cynthia’s search for "The Man" leads her on a magical, amusing, and humbling journey, where her repeated failures unexpectedly form a new vision. It is through her quest to find this stranger that she discovers a part of herself she had so long ago forgotten. Finally enabled to surpass the fairy tale dreams of her childhood, Cynthia arrives at her own hopeful version of living "happily-ever-after."
