THE BOOK
There is a dark, dark place in every man's soul where the light of hope can no longer be seen. If you allow yourself to imagine the deepest, darkest, coldest and most damp stone walled well, the mental image that you create will approximate one one millionth of the blackness found there. Dick Williams had found that place.
*!*
The shot sounded much smaller than it would on television or in the movies. It was more like the pop of a firecracker than the expected crack of a rifle. The dogs heard the noise of course. At ten o'clock in the morning, the distant neighbors did not notice their forlorn and worried howling.
*!*
Bertan Crane and JJ Jamison are enlisted to uncover the truth about Dick Williams' death in this story of intrigue, power, manipulation and betrayal. The Perfect Crime? is the third Bertan Crane novel.
