THE AUTHOR

I was born on the Great Lakes Navel Base in Illinois, and raised in the suburbs of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. While attending Whitnall High School in Hales Corners, Wisconsin, I was bitten by the Writing Bug, and have been inflicted ever since.

Soon after marrying, my husband and I moved to Texas. We've been here since '74. During the last 25 years, I've made homemaking my career. We've raised 4 children, whose ages now range from 24 to 14. I've home schooled for the past 13 years.

Now that they are self-sufficient, I have more time to devote to my writing. To that end, I've incorporated Writing in the curriculum of my 2 youngest children. They, too, are now inflicted with the Bug. So much so, they publish their own kids' literary magazine 5 times a year.

THE BOOK

The hostage situation that took place on her last day on the streets of San Antonio had left her shaken, and was to haunt SARAH HAMILTON for a long time. But that very night, her lawyer TOMAS DIAZ came with information that was more devastating. He told her about her mother's affair, how her 4-year-old brother, CORT, was not her beloved father's son, and that Cort's father is a world terrorist by the name of IAN COURTLANDT. Courtlandt knows about his son, and is coming for him. His reputation dictates he will kill anyone who gets in his way.

Realizing that her life is danger because she is the only one who stands between the boy and his father, Sarah quits the police department, and changes their names. With Cort next to her, she accepts a position as governess in the home of JOURDAN RIDEAUX in the state of Louisiana. He had hired FAN CHEN, a private investigator, to find out about Sarah, so he knows of her dilemma. Jourdan is still confident, however, in her ability to care for his daughter LISETTE. What he doesn't know is that Fan also told Courtlandt the whereabouts of Sarah and Cort. So now, with another force within Jourdan's own home as ally, Courtlandt is allowed to get close enough to kill.

Jourdan agrees to help Sarah and her brother. Le Chˆnair becomes a house under siege when Courtlandt realizes that Sarah will not give him his son. Sarah calls up the stores, everything she has learned on the streets, to stop a ruthless man from getting what he wants.

She soon learns that the hostage situation that last day as a policeman was really a terrorist act, for the one who had taken the little girl hostage and the one coming for her brother now is the same man. Reaching deep into what makes her SPIKE HAMILTON'S daughter, she is finally able to play a mind game of her own, leaving a guarantee that Cort will never be bothered by this terrorist again. Oh! But at such a price!

A woman can only run so long, before she decides it's time to turn and fight. When Sarah Hamilton does, she turns to confront the world renown terrorist, and father of her 4-year-old, half-brother. It ends in a showdown where only one of them can come out alive.

Looking down the sites of her gun at a terrorist while his cohort shoots her in the back is the way Sarah Hamilton finds out that the life she has made for herself and 4-year-old brother is not as safe as she thought it was. Read this story of love, betrayal, and family sacrifice.
