This is a work of fiction. All characters and events portrayed in this book are fictional, and any resemblance to real people or incidents is purely coincidental.

THE AUTHOR

Diane Lee Horwood was born and raised in Long Beach, California, and is now residing in Tucson, Arizona; owning, riding, and loving horses for the past 20 years.

The Wicked Witch of the West are multi-stories of fiction and nonfiction. The two Morgan horses are real and the statue of "The Wicked Witch" is real. Tucson and the historical sites are authentic. The two horses are shared by the author and her friends, and all the antics on and of the horses plus the "how-to" take care of them are factual; however, in the stories the two riders are two boys. The rest is strictly the wild imagination of the author building up plots, mystery, adventure, and magical surroundings that creates a vivid image for all readers to enjoy.

The author received "The Silver Angel Award" for her first story on the Internet from "The Excellence In Media" at the 23 International Angel Awards, February 24, 2000, in Hollywood, California. She received this award for being a first time author, published by a publisher and contributing to the community a childrens/adult story for all to read.

THE BOOK

"A Friend For the Wicked Witch of the West" continues from the third novel, "The Talking Wicked Witch of the West". An imaginary story of two adventuresome children, their friends and foes, and the two desert statues that have magical powers.

The Wicked Witch's friend is a computerized dog, named KC, that becomes magical through the Wicked Witch and his own supernatural powers. The disk that controls KC's movement is stolen. Our two heroes, Joko and Zeke, try to find the disk, only to find out that Betty-Jo, their girlfriend, was kidnapped along with the disk. The excitement increases with the two magical statues who help find Betty-Jo and the computerized disk.

Lots of fast action and thrills. A mysterious twist occurs when Joko and Zeke ride their horses in another direction away from the two magical statues, enabling the readers to use their imagination before reading the next adventure "Cloning The Wicked Witch of the West" that continues with the multi-stories.

Endorsements

"This story has every possible ingredient for fast, absorbing reading and should make a terrific hit as a movie. I am very thrilled to endorse this story encouraging children of all ages, as well as adults to read a novel truly designed to the author's and reader's imagination.

The characterizations are excellent and all the action episodes are graphically portrayed.

Congratulations on your writing skills and plot developments. You are truly an outstanding writer in my opinion."—Mary Dorr, President/Founder - Excellence In Media/Angel Awards

"Here is a highly imaginative story told bravely with such verve, a story told straight forwardly even while it dared to explore the outer edges of reason. It's a tantalizing tale that will appeal to adults as much, or more so, as to children."—Gordon Gordon (based on the novel "Undercover Cat" by The Gordons and the Screenplay by The Gordons and Bill Walsh, Walt Disney Pictures presents "That Darn Cat.")

"I truly enjoyed reading Ms. Horwood's first novel and now the second one of "The Wicked Witch of the West" continuous stories. Truly a gold mine for all to read.

I was able to picture myself in the midst of every character, flowing with the author's vivid imagination. With Tucson's environment, capturing the western atmosphere with horses, stagecoach in the wash, the children and adults riding these horses, and the ongoing scenes of magical wonders, I can see why Ms. Mary Dorr, Founder and President of the Excellence In Media, endorsed Ms. Horwood's books, and I concur in Ms. Dorr's thinking that The Wicked Witch of the West continuous stories would make a great movie.

It is with great pleasure, that I as well, endorse Ms. Horwood's inspiring refreshing stories, and I anxiously await her upcoming new novel."—Rev. Dr. Marva L. Gordon, Associate Minister, Prince Chapel (A.M.E. Church)Tucson, Arizona
