My Fibromyalgia Story....
Before I share my story, let me tell you unequivocally that there IS hope for us that suffer with Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. I KNOW! I have a level of health and well-being today that I have not had at any time in my adult life! (And I hit the big 5-0 last year!!)
I know most of you reading this will react with one of two emotions – complete and utter skepticism, or a level of desperation and hope that this time something will work! I fell into the latter category.
Having suffered for almost two decades, first with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, after finally convincing my doctor that I wasn’t “just depressed”, and then having received a Fibromyalgia diagnosis, after all the tests for lupus, Lyme disease, rheumatoid arthritis, etc., had been run, I was told what most of us have been told. I had to "manage" the pain and fatigue. With a medical community that offered little help at the time, I went on a mission to regain my health.
Now for all of you who have suffered with Chronic Fatigue and/or Fibro, you know we could sit and compare endless lists of doctors, chiropractors, acupuncturists, protocols, supplements, chelation, IV treatments, physical therapy, myofascial trigger point therapy, pain management programs and more, till we were blue in the face!
Personally, I ran up a charge card to almost $20,000. on all of the above treatments, all the while, giving myself B-12 shots weekly, and swallowing fistfuls of vitamins daily. If I ever felt better from any of that $20,000. worth of treatments and supplements, it was minimal and fleeting at best.
I hated being sick all the time! I hated the swollen glands, the constant flu-like symptoms, the pain and exhaustion that greeted me every single morning of my life! I hated the brain fog that made me feel stupid and unable to focus! I hated that my boss looked at me like I was abusing my sick time, and subsequently, penalized me at my annual evaluation. I didn't want to be 'the sick one'! I wanted to be normal!!! I just wanted to feel good! Was that too much to ask?!
And then one Sunday morning two years ago, I was introduced to what I now affectionately call "hope in a can"! Don't ask me why I was open to trying one more thing after the long list of failed attempts, but I hung on to that thread of hope! That fateful morning, I believe God put someone in my path that changed my life! This person had suffered the same CFS and Fibro that I had, and then some. She had suffered longer than I had, with severe migraines thrown into the mix - something I never had to deal with! And yet when I met her, there was not that look of pain in her eyes, that exhausted pale look to her face. She was energetic, happy and hopeful! Her eyes were bright and alert, her voice was filled with joy and energy. I knew I wanted whatever she had!! I grabbed onto that hope this stranger shared with me. I wanted her story to be my story! Now a dear friend, the lifeline that this person threw to me that fateful day has changed my life forever!
With new hope, I started the nutritional shakes my new friend introduced me to. Now I know at this point, many of you will shake your heads thinking this is just one more of those things.... If I had not gotten the results I did, I would be right there with you! If I had not had LIFE-CHANGING RESULTS, I would not be sharing my story here on the Internet! Within a few weeks of starting these shakes, I was waking up before my alarm clock, pain-free! The brain fog that had made my morning drive to work dangerous at times was gone!! People saw a major difference in my life, in my mood, in my attitude, in my confidence! I felt human again!!!

An occasional 'mini' flare, but I always know I can get back to feeling normal and good again!! What a blessing and gift I have been given!! And I thank God every day for this nutrition that has given me my life back!
That is why I share my story here. I feel a moral obligation to share my experience and my hope with others!! I cannot imagine where I would be had the person who shared her story with me not taken the time to do so! And so I share my story with you.
